Have You Forgotten About Me?

With all that happened during this off-season and draft hype with John Wall and the big three landing in Miami, you may be forgiven for letting Blake Griffin, who missed his rookie season due to injury, slip your mind. Well, I'm here to remind you that he is a beast of a power-forward and a credible contender for rookie of the year this season.
And although I think that the Clippers really should have chosen Paul George in the draft, they still added a good small-forward with the 8th pick. So like the Wolves, they've got some young guns too. They were also talking about being contenders this season, but that's perhaps unlikely. Still, their wins will improve for sure, especially with this mad line-up:
- Baron Davis
- Eric Gordon
- Ryan Gomes
- Blake Griffin
- Chris Kaman
One worrying thing is, when you look at that line-up, nobody, although solid players, is particularly fast basketball players. Teams need speed. Poll time! There was a poll following my John Wall Analysis on who you think rookie of the year will be. But this one is Clippertasmic!
Will the Clippers Make the Playoffs in 2010-2011?

There's been too much hype this summer for you to remember these impact players. Next season will be interesting to watch.
- Brandon Jennings Rookie of the year in my opinion. His stellar playoff performance is often overlooked because the Bucks didn't get very far, but this is a rookie we're talking about! Point-guards play very well in their second year if they think they've got something to prove.
- Chris Paul You should be ashamed if this absolute dragon doesn't come up in your list of who to watch next season. But basketball is changing, and rumour is that CP3 wants a new team. It would be interesting to see how he plays after his injury for a team he doesn' want to roll with.
- Charlotte Bobcats Appearing almost completely stripped of there core players, we should wait to see how Michael Jordan's team responds, then judge ;)
- Tyreke Evans A lot of people will be expecting him to shine again, but not me. I doubt he'll average 20-5-5 again, with DeMarcus Cousins on his team. It was just a situation he was able to manipulate for high numbers, but few wins. Still, I could be wrong. Averaging what LeBron James did in his rookie year is no easy feat, so I hope Evans lives up to the hype.
- Rodrigue Beaubois If you missed his 40 point game last season, tough luck. And in case you haven't heard, the Mavericks have a vested interest in this young Frenchman's talent; they're training him up well like a lil' pup. So keep your eye open for Kidd's backup when you're watching a Dallas game.

I am a big Blake Griffin fan, and I hope he isn't simply too fragile in the Greg Odom mold. Griffin played two seasons at Oklahoma and only played five minutes against Kansas, another team in the Big Twelve conference. He was injured both seasons when the Jayhawks were on the schedule. The fact that Griffin was out for the season due to a non-contact injury last season also raises questions about his durability. I truly hope he succeeds because I think he can be a very good player, but he is certainly not proven to be an iron man.
My main reason for not believing in the Clippers as a playoff team was the trading of Marcus Camby to Portland. Another big man with experience would be helpful.
Another reason I'm not high on the Clippers is I've never been a huge Baron Davis fan. He is a skilled player but I don't like his game. He shoots from outside too much and passes not enough. He has lost quite a bit of speed to age and injuries over the years, and I have never believed you can win relying on Baron Davis. He's not as bad as Stephon Marbury, but he's not a guy you can count on.
